In April 2022, the Henan Provincial Human Resources and Social Security Bureau issued a document requiring all pharmacies in Henan Province to support social security card payment for medical insurance catalog drugs. Since the national medical insurance catalog drugs are developed and sold to pharmacies across the country, it has greatly facilitated the purchase of catalog drugs through the personal accounts of social security cards, so that medical insurance can truly save people money!
So, Henan Social Security Bureau and 30 chain pharmacies across the province held a meeting to coordinate and require these 30 chain pharmacies to be the first to launch multi-in-one card readers. They were required to upgrade their previous low-end equipment that could only swipe first-generation and second-generation cards to the latest five-in-one card readers, which include readers for first-generation cards (magnetic stripe cards), second-generation cards (chip contact cards), third-generation cards (chip contactless cards), as well as electronic medical insurance codes and ID cards.
